about

I'd had a few years off being in a band, having being in one since I was a teenager, and damn I was missing playing the guitar loud.
In writing these songs, I was trying to explore growing up in the 1980s and 90s, the technology and culture of those times, when a lot of what now constitutes life as we know it, was just in a quaint, unsettling infancy.
I enjoyed making the EP, but a bittersweet moment came when I realised that making a rock record on your own wasn't quite the same as making one with a band, and what I was really missing was the comradre, the ridiculousness, the elation, and the glory of that shared creative experience with best friends. I think that eventually that's what these songs came to be about.
